  17. I did spend thanksgiving weekend reading C++ Primer by Stanley Lippman.  It was
  18. really enjoyable and I could read continuously for four hours.  That is
  19. something considering I have short attention span.  C++ Primer does not assume
  20. expertise in the C language.  The examples are good and very readable.  Best
  21. part I liked are the appendices about C++ I/O library and the future directions
  22. for C++.  I/O library is important to me because I use C++ for standalone code
  23. and I cannot use the stream.h supplied with C++ compiler. I plan to write my
  24. own version of C++ tailered to my requirement.  I now have a book for myself.
